Lets continue to pray fervently for our dear brother, Jun Heng, for his speedy recovery be it physically and emotionally, and for his family, especially his parents.

Let's all have faith in our Almightly Lord, for He will bless this family.
We must not be defeated by Satan, as Satan will only try to spoil our faith with God, but as long as we all can continue to pray and have faith, Satan will back off.

God has protected Jun Heng in many ways.

Let's all be thankful that it wasn't raining that night,
the weapon didn't went too deep and hurt his spine, brain and other organs,
that all his fingers were found,
and that the doctors could still save him.

After a grueling 27hours of surgery,
he is now in ICU.

We have to continue to pray hard, that within the next 24 hours, his wounds, especially his neck, would not be infected as it was rather dirty when they found him.
We also have to pray that his fingers will receive a sufficient amount of blood and that they will be able to work normally again.
Next, we also have to pray that his blood count will increase as he has a rather low blood count now.
Finally, we have to pray that the Angs will be able to go through this in the presence of the Lord.

The whole church, have been praying extremely hard for them. Even those who are currently in overseas are also praying for him.

I believe that God listens to our prayers, and He will not allow us to bear what we cannot bear.

In times of distress, we have to remain still, always remember, He is our God, our creator, and He loves us.

We really do not understand, why God has allowed this to happen. But we all know that, in the future, we look back, and we will understand why.

Brothers and Sisters, lets continue to pray hard for Jun Heng and family.

Last Saturday's BBQ was a blast despite the rain. (I really prayed to God for good weather and NOT to rain but He didn't say YES to my prayer )

So we really had to trouble Mrs Goh, (again) to offer her house for us, and she had to cook the food instead of us bbqing it.

There were really lots and lots of delicious food that we couldn't even manage to finish! I had lots of curry calamari and prawns and chips. But only had 3 chicken wings :( I was really quite prepared to eat 20 chicken wings or something before that...

We actually naturally split into groups and talk/play amongst ourselves. I found myself in a group talking about our epic moments while we were in primary school and we really had a good laugh. My jaws/cheeks actually kinda ache the next day cause of all the laughing etc etc

Realize we couldn't really bond with everybody but nevertheless I'm sure everyone had fun!

Dear all,

You're invited to BBQ specially for Bigbricks and Littlebricks on 3 April (Saturday), 5.30pm at Cindy daoshi's House!

Registration starts this coming Sunday, fee is $10. Please PAY UP when you register!

I'm sure we'll have a superb time fellowship-ping & bbq-ing together!! (Remember the bbq at Jasper's House after the last Retreat? BOOMZ la~)

Just in case it rains, we'll squeeze into Cindy's hse and do hotpot and microwave :P. But please pray for the weather!

Hi guys! I've checked out the movies but unable to check the ones at Cathay because as far as I know, they only put showtimes up for the present day, so I will just post the movies that everyone are able to watch first, then we'll sort it out according to relevance and etc (but I guess very few of them are relevant? )

1. Up in the air

From Jason Reitman, the Oscar nominated director of "Juno", comes a comedy called Up in the Air starring Oscar winner George Clooney as Ryan Bingham, a corporate downsizing expert whose cherished life on the road is threatened just as he is on the cusp of reaching ten million frequent flyer miles and just after hes met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams.

2. Being Human

Max (Mark Lee) is a hardworking but unscrupulous employee for a mildly successful slimming centre Natural Beauty. In his efforts to increase company profits, Max decides to purchase supplies from a counterfeit brand. When he was found out, Max was fired. In his retaliation, Max decides to open a rival company Max Beauty, using the same counterfeit beauty products and imported slimming pills. Max's conscience (played by Taiwanese celebrity Nono) appears to advise him against these actions but is duly ignored. Max will eventually realize that what comes around, goes around and what it means to Being Human Being.

3.Happy Go Lucky

Viewed as a jinx and mistreated by her hardcore gambler father, Hock Lee Poh (Richard Low) and spendthrift sister, Donna (Patricia Mok), Fu Xin (Fann Wong) is actually a surreptitious 'Lucky Star' who always manages to avert precarious situations; turning unfavourable conditions into favourable ones, having the Midas touch in everything she does. When Poh and Donna find themselves in trouble after heavy losses at the gambling tables, Fu Xin arrives to their rescue with help from her new-found friend, a casino magnate.

4. Little Big Soldier

A Foot Soldier (Jackie Chan) and a General (Wang Lee Hom) from rival states become the sole survivors of war. The Soldier captures the wounded General, hoping to use his enemy as a ticket to freedom by handling him over to the warlord. Along the long and winding journey, the two men at loggerheads meet with the most amazing encounters starving without water and food, seductive scheming songstress, a stalking ferocious bear...

I guess that's all? The shows like all not very nice leh. hahaha Those nice ones are either some people already watched/NC16/M18.

师母卸任感恩聚会

Yesterday was 师母卸任感恩聚会 which also means that my shi mu's stepping down as a pastor.
It was rather an emotional thanksgiving because shi mu actually served in church for 25 years. She's also the one who started the Chinese congregation and many many other stuff. Many people really missed working under her and I believe the one who feels mostly emotional should be shi mu because the church is where she have worked and it has also become her second home.

Her relationship with all church members is also very deep and whenever someone leaves God, has family/relationship problems or even pass away, she cries for them.

Her love for God and us is really strong so it's really understandable that she kept crying yesterday and today.

Everybody's getting ready for the ceremony to start.

I kinda like their sharing because their sharing was really cute and unique and funny unlike those crying and weeping ones. Atleast they liven up the atmosphere lor!

They actually described themselves as different types of fruits.

Cindy Wong - Mango
the eldest brother - Pineapple

And you realize all the fruits' colour is YELLOW (which is their surname)

And they actually presented a basket of fruits for Shi Mu! So sweeet

The choir sang

My father and Kathy's father shared but I couldn't really pay attention to what my father shared cause I thought he was quite long-winded? Oh wells, Shi Mu understand can already haha

Then our china friends sang.

Then Shi mu went up to speak a few words, teared a bit
and her mother was invited up to say some words too

But she cried so much because she was really touched that her daughter actually became a pastor and it was just so heartwarming and emotional!

After the entire thing,
we went down for buffet dinner and took photos with Shi Mu too

I LOVE SHI MU!

Then today during service, she was asked to speak again, and today she cried and couldn't talk for half a min or more and I couldn't control my tears anymore and I cried too because she cried until so sad and I never see her cry before!
Everytime I see her, she'll have this very loving and warmth expression on her face, the very 慈祥 look. SIGH

Anyway, soon it'll be mu shi's turn, which is Rev Chan, a.k.a her husband.

Anyhow, I really really love them and am already used to them being the senior pastors in church. I believe that God will continue to bless them and Grace S.C.C Church and God is awesome!

Gentle reminder for this Sat's event. We have to be there at 3.30pm SHARP (pls be on time), at the main sanctuary. As for the dress code:

OK:
Jeans
Shirt with collar
Blouse
Skirts
Pants

Not OK:

Shorts, bermudas etc
Shirt without collar (t-shirts)
Singlets
Slippers
Beach Wear etc.

Yup, you get the idea la, just go along the lines of smart casual wear. Just remember that you're going up to sing so pls dress appropriately :)

Please be reminded of this Sunday's rehearsal for Shi Mu's 卸任感恩聚会.

This Sunday's our youth dialogue session, which will take place from 12.45 - 2.30pm. We need you to cooperate in the following:

Lunch will be provided at 12.45pm. Please confirm your attendance either with Kathy or Suet Min & whether you want to have lunch provided for you. If you do not confirm your attendance by Saturday, so sorry, there'll be no lunch for you. Kathy and Suet Min, please assist in collating the attendees & lunch takers for that day. If no one replies to you and you need help with the sms, do approach any of the daoshis (minus Junlin, as she's overseas) for help.
We need everyone to be there on that day because the youth worship is for YOU. It's not for the daoshis, not for pastors; it is for every single one of you. So please let us hear you out and how we can make it a success together.
There will be a survey done on the timing of the youth worship. We'll try to come out with the best timing but we hope you'll also be considerate to your fellow brothers and sisters (esp. from other congregations) too... For Ur Neighbour, remember? Do give some considerations to your neighbours when you fill up the form.
There is about 1/2 hour where we can have some fun and games (card games, simple & short board games). If anyone of you wish to bring some simple games to play then, please feel free to do so.

Sorry for the late update but, we'll be having our annual CNY gathering at Cindy 导师's house this coming Tuesday (初三) 16 February from 3-5pm.

We will be playing board games (Taboo, pictionary) and the basketball and table tennis courts have been booked as well!?
Those who will be going, please meet at Toa Payoh MRT at 2.45pm!

Personal opinion:

I would prefer to have the youth worship on Sunday evening instead of Saturday because I feel that nobody will go on Saturday as it's our only free time in the week.

Ultimate Frisbee

Yesterday, we all gathered at Bishan Park to have a game of Ultimate Frisbee.
I didn't really enjoy the game because the ground was a bit muddy but the others enjoyed themselves so much!
Even Kathy's father appeared too :D

We then proceed on to AMK for our lunch and some of us headed home, which included me.

I was so tired because I guess I haven't run for weeks plus I ate so much junkies. lol

And it was also the princess's first time to clean MUD off her sparkly shoe :(

I'ma proud of myself!

Ultimate Frisbee by Pastor Daniel

Hi guys!

According to Pastor Daniel,
we will be having a game of frisbee @ Bishan Park this Saturday, 9 January.
And this is a good opportunity for us to bring our non-christian friends or friends who haven't been in fellowship for a long time!!

For those who are going, meet at 10 45am at the bus stop along Bishan Park (opposite Block 220; bus stop no. 54619). SBS 262 is the only bus that stops there from Ang Mo Kio Interchange. If you are not sure, you can also meet Jairus (Jun Heng) at Ang Mo Kio MRT station control at 10.30am instead. *But please do let him know earlier if you would want to meet him at the MRT station and if you would be able to join us!

On the other hand, if you have a frisbee to loan, please let us know earlier !

We also welcome other sports/games suggestions for other times too.

It's the first fellowship gathering for the year and 18 people turned up today. Despite the large amount of people turning up (it's one of the most number of people turning up compared to previous weeks), I could observe that those who should actually be with us since a few years ago still didn't come. It's kind of sad actually :(

Anyway, we have new 导师s this year, Gordon and Junlin. In my opinion, they're a cute couple, full of creativity, mature and fun.
Somehow, I'm quite confident that this year's fellowship programmes would be different, fun and meaningful. I hope the number of students will either be maintained and better still, increase.

I still remember the first time I joined student fellowship, I love it a lot. I have no idea why but now then I'm one of the eldest in this fellowship, I hope we can bring the joy and fun that I experienced 5 years ago, to the newcomers and the juniors.

Most importantly, I think it's important to set a good example to them, so that in the future, they can also lead in student fellowship and etc etc.

So anyway,
really thanks everybody for singing a birthday song for my brother today. I know that many of you might think that he's very naughty and stuff, but, as his elder sister, I can see that he's changing slowly and I hope that everybody will forgive him for his misdeeds and pray for him.

For Ur Neighbour. Remember?
